Vision

The department offers the Arabic Language and Literature Program, which aims to prepare a graduate who has the ability to:

1. Fluency in Arabic (speaking, writing and reading).

2. Fluency in the Arabic language that allows him to speak and interact with it and to be familiar with its intellectual and artistic production and its developments.

3. Communication with other cultures, based on a strong background of his Arab culture.

4. Mastery of the Arab culture and the ability to understand the comprehensive civilizational framework of the Arabic language and the characteristics of its culture.

5. An informed reading of Arabic literature.

6. Knowledge of a second foreign language at least, in addition to the Arabic language.

Mission

The graduate should have acquired the knowledge and ability to understand:

1. The linguistic and grammatical rules of the Arabic language.

2. Common linguistic and literary expression styles in the Arabic language.

3. The common literary and intellectual currents in the heritage of the Arabic language.

4. The most famous ancient and contemporary writers and thinkers in the heritage of the Arabic language, and their most important literary and intellectual product.

5. The civilizational, political and social history of the Arab and Islamic nation.

6. Basic knowledge and concepts in the field of literary theories.

7. The most important linguistic and grammatical rules and methods of expression of a living foreign language. (second language)

Objectives

The graduate should be able to:

1. Employing the information and concepts that he studied in his field of work.

2. Correct reading of texts written in Arabic.

3. Using the correct grammar in writing a topic or a report or giving a speech in Arabic.

4. Employing the various human sciences in the practice of literary and linguistic work.

5. Use references in the second foreign language that he is learning.
